Senior Process Engineer
Our client, a global leader in biotech and pharmaceutical solutions, is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for their CA location. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing and research by developing innovative process designs and supporting utilities for a wide range of facilities.
Position Overview
As a Senior Process Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing and implementing manufacturing processes and utility systems, with projects spanning from pilot-scale to full commercial production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Lead Process Engineer on conceptual design deliverables, including Process Flow Diagrams and conducting Material and Energy Balances.
- Estimate utility requirements for new manufacturing processes and design utility generation and distribution systems.
- Develop detailed Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), incorporating controls strategy and Clean-In-Place/Sterilize-In-Place (CIP/SIP) functions (AutoCAD proficiency is a plus).
- Create critical utility system P&IDs, such as those for Water for Injection (WFI), USP Purified Water, and Clean Steam.
- Conduct engineering studies to enhance, expand, or automate facilities with minimal supervision.
- Prepare specifications and performance data sheets for process equipment and instrumentation.
- Leverage and contribute to company design tools, including process simulation and smart P&IDs.
- Take ownership of process-related aspects within larger projects or lead smaller projects independently, offering technical support to the design team.
- Maintain positive working relationships with clients and collaborate effectively with the internal design team.

Qualifications:
- 10+ years of engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years focused on process design in Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology sectors.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Knowledge of cGMP standards applicable to process design and equipment specification.
Additional Information:
- Project-dependent travel is required.
- This role includes field-based, safety-sensitive responsibilities in various environments such as construction, packaging, and manufacturing.

Compensation:
This position offers a salary range of $130,000 - $200,000, depending on experience, education, and skill set.
